HUNTING
People hunt for many different reasons. I started hunting with my grandfather when I was about 12 years old. He took me to a field that had popcorn harvested and there were plenty of doves to shoot. He hunted for the birds. He didn't waste any shells and made sure he came home with his limit. I hunted for sport. I shot as many times as I could and enjoyed every minute of it and only collected one bird the first day. I also learned to deer hunt with one of my uncles. We did some still hunting and on occassion we hunted with with a friend that ran dogs. It was very exciting to be around the dogs and see the anticipation of all the adults getting ready and picking the best spots. For some, it's all about the kill and for others it's about just being there and seeing nature in action.
We are dedicated to helping our youth get more involved in the outdoor activities available today. Hunting is just one way to get kids out of the house and away from all of the electronic toys. Most of our efforts have been in the woods hunting wild turkeys. We are blessed to have a good population in the South Georgia area and the landowners are very willing to offer their property to help get the youth and our handicap / disabled hunters a chance at a wild turkey.
We also try to show areas around the country that offer good hunting. If you are into ducks, deer, turkey and quail, we can help you. We hope you enjoy our new website.

Handicap / Disabled Turkey Hunt 2011 Handicap Turkey Hunt Winner
Talon Outdoors organizes a hunt for the handicap and disabled every year and the volunteers always show up. It's a great experience for all involved.

Getting Kids InvolvedThe Cabela's Gonzales, Louisiana Store sponsored a youth turkey calling contest on April 2, 2011 and the winner was awarded merchandise and a turkey hunt. The hunt took place the next day and our 13 year old hunter had a great hunt.
