My name is David Neck and I live in Valdosta, Georgia. Growing up in Louisiana, I was introduced to the Great Outdoors by my grandfather. He took me on many fishing trips and my first hunting adventure, which was shooting doves. I loved the outdoors and have been an active participant in many outdoor activities. I fished in many bass tournaments and was a member of "Rapides Bass Club". As you can tell, I have quite a love for the outdoors and over the years I developed an urgency to record some of the Great things you get to see when your out in God's creation! I started with a top of the line Sony 8mm camcorder in the early 1980's. I just filmed stuff so that I could look at it again and show others. Later, as the computers got better and software for linear editing got cheaper, I tried my hand at editing my footage and making it into a story that could be shown to my friends. Now that's exciting! I began to spend more of my time behind the camera and less time with a gun or rod and reel in my hands.
Now here I am today, and my passion is not only the video production of a Great Adventure, but it is the sharing of my passion with others. My friends and family are very much involved in the outdoors and we all get the most pleasure out of introducing someone new to what we do. It can be a young person or an adult that has never had an opportunity to try our sport. My recent interest came after the pandemic brought us home from our travels. I started the NeckBone Custom Shop where I make custom hand made trumpet turkey calls. These are one of a kind calls that I post here on this website.
This site is dedicated to God's creations and those of us that are fortunate to experience them first hand. The "NECK OF THE WOODS" video series is a platform for us to share our experiences, teach to those that want to learn, and give opportunities to people that haven't shared the outdoor experience. What we do isn't fancy, but it is of the highest quality. Be sure to share your passion for whatever it is you love about the outdoors. You will love the experience when it is shared, and if it is captured on video, you can relive that great time together over and over.

Jimmy Whatley
Beauregard, Alabama
Born and raised on a dairy family and was the second of five children. After a BS and MS in Agronomy and Soils from Auburn University I served five years with the Cooperative Extension Service in Georgia and really enjoyed my service to the farmers and homeowners as County Agent in Pulaski County Georgia. The next 25 years had me helping to grow a family owned company in Valdosta, Ga. To the largest privately owned pesticide company in the world. I served in many positions including Business Director and Vice President over one of the global business units.
My outdoor experience started early with duck and bird (quail) hunting with my dad. Lee County Alabama at that time did not have turkeys or deer and I only got into hunting these quarries during my college days. After graduation my interest was there but with a family and career my time was limited. My career carried me all over the world but five hunting trips to Africa have provided me with a real appreciation of the beauty and charm of Africa. The hunting passion I have today is focused mainly on the pursuit of the wild turkey. After having the opportunity and time to devote to hunting around 1995, I am able to go turkey hunting about six times a week. The sport is so exciting to me that my partner (David Neck) and I take someone with us every day to try and introduce that person to the fine sport of turkey hunting. Our real delight is to be able to be there when that person kills their first wild turkey and to get it on tape for that person to share with their family and friends. Our experience is better than killing that old bird ourselves. When the sound of that gobble fails to stir me you will probably find me with my ten toes pointed up.
I look forward to helping deal with agronomic issues as well as the fine points of how to lure that old turkey into gun range. The Lord has truly produced a fine bird and I want to do all I can to help especially our younger generation to appreciate this gift and to know that we are to be
stewards for that gift.
